A little about Bill

Bill Hirsch was born in 1949 in Philadelphia, PA. Growing up in a large family, Bill was encouraged to be independent and creative.  His artistic talents were noticed at and early age.  He had a talent for solving spacial puzzles and also became good at figuring out the answers to problems by taking a different approach than others.  He began playing the cello in middle school and his love of classical music was born. Bill  and his family traveled often, and have many fond memories of living in Michigan on a lake. When it was time for college, Bill was practical. He chose a college near to home so that he could help save money.  After graduating from George Mason University, and marrying Maureen, he went to the University of Virginia receiving a Masters of Architecture.  While in Charlottesville, Bill and Maureen's first child, Kristi was born.  Over the next 12 years they welcomed three boys, Dan, Ben and Matt.

Bill loves the personal ingredient to Residential Design. Each client is different, and has different needs and desires. As a design develops, so does a personal friendship.  Bill feels that each project stimulates his creativity and encourages intellectual, artistic and emotional growth.  As a result of the years of personal interaction, Bill wrote Designing Your Perfect House: Lessons from an Architect.    This book describes Bill's approach to residential architecture and encourages the home owner to be able to be totally involved in the design process.  Fully illustrated with color photos and sketches, this book has been a best seller since it was published in 2008.  www.designingyourperfecthouse.com
